On a mission......

Mary is on a mission to find the perfect theme for
the nursery and I think she has done it.

She was originally wanting to do a Scooby-Doo
theme but everything she found seemed to be more
for a toddler than a baby.

I just love what she has chosen and hope that she
does not change her mind.

She was also looking into cribs and it sounds like
she will be going with this one that can change as
the child grows.

Getting through the first trimester......

Mary is having a tough go of it. Her morning
sickness can not tell time, therefore she is sick
pretty much 24/7.

The other day I checked on her and the picture
below was her response.

Keep you chin up Mary. He will be worth it!

It is FINALLY here.......

It is time to interrupt this marriage to bring you...

FOOTBALL SEASON!

15 of us met at Duffy's to watch the Dolphin's lose.

J.J. made the rounds and talked to everyone.

When Brady was removed from the game due to
an injury Lance went white!

I think Eric was willing the Dolphins to win.
Nice try Eric.

This is what my front yard looked like.
No football fans here!

Labor Day.......

We were invited to Terri and Eric's for a Labor Day
cookout. It was a beautiful day and the kids were
able to play in the pool.

It was fun to watch Eric (the vegetarian) cooking
a bunch of hamburgers and hot dogs on their new
grill.

After swimming and eating, the kids joined Frank
on the floor and got an education on hurricanes
and how they can change at a moments notice.

He almost sounded like he knew what he was talking
about.

That was the weekend we spent glued to the T.V.
hoping that Hanna stayed away since we still had
not recovered from Fay.

Lance's Little Sapphire........

This is Lance's Lovebird "Sapphire". She is really
friendly and loves attention.

When Lance plays his video games in his room he
always leaves her cage open so she can come and
go as she pleases. If he ignores her for too long she
just lands on his controller cord and sings at the top
of her lungs.

She is just too cute!

A BIG Surprise.......

I have been dying to share some wonderful news and after pouting for a week I was finally given the go-ahead.

Frank and I are going to be GRANDPARENTS! (o.k. and Mary and Jason are going to be parents)

Mary told me last Thursday and she had already known for a week.

Well, I bet you are curious on how she gave us the big news......she sent me an email with a link to a blog that she had started which announced the happy news. Yes, an email.....at work......an office full of people and I couldn't react. I got really light headed and thought I was going to throw up. After going from office to office and making the announcement I was feeling better and was ready to do cartwheels! A grandmother at 40! How awesome!

Not everyone's initial reaction was the same as mine, but, "Grumpa" has loosened up and is now anxiously awaiting our future grandchild.

Lance was priceless when I told him. I asked him what his favorite nick name was. He told me and then I told him that Mary and I had come up with a better one, "Uncle Lance". He looked at me blank faced for a moment and then smiled and said, "She's not....they didn't....there isn't..."? I smiled back at him and said, "She is.....they did....there is..."! He said, "That's great....., right"? Just then Mary showed up and answered all of his questions.

She spent the next hour with a permanent grin on her face while she was bombarded with questions (even on the phone with Jean). She always has been one to roll with the punches. I bet parenthood will be a breeze for her.

CONGRATULATIONS Mary & Jason! We love you & know you will be the best parents ever!
