Another one bites the dust......

Frank's car has not been repaired yet and was planning on fixing it this weekend. In the mean time he has been using Connie's car to get back and forth to work.
When I got home yesterday Frank, Louis and J.J. were standing in my garage with the hood of Connie's car up. Not a good sign, especially since Frank looked like he had lost his best friend.
Turns out it blew the head gasket so now instead of working on Frank's car they will instead be working on Connie's car.
Frank dropped me off at work this morning and I asked him to PLEASE not break my car!!!

Maybe I will get to go car shopping after all.

Little Miss Morgan......

This is Cheryl's new granddaughter Morgan
with the Z boys.

Zeus adores her, Zach does not pay to much attention
to her and Ziggy could care less.

I think this is tooooo cute!!

A visit from J.J.........

Last week Eric came over for a haircut and brought
J.J. with him.
Lance made her dinner and helped her with her
homework.

After homework it was bath time.
For J.J. it was more like a swimming pool.
She had a blast!

J.J., you can come over and use my tub anytime
you want.

Always a great time........

A couple of weeks ago Frank and I went to
Jelly Rolls with Terri and Eric.

We always have a great time there!!!!!

Scotty doing his version of "Rainbow Connection"
by Kermit the Frog.

Daniel was new to us and we are always skeptical
of the "new" guy because we are spoiled by always
seeing Ray, Tommy & Scotty who are extremely
talented.
He really surprised us! He was fantastic! He is perfect
for all of the high note songs and did Styx to perfection!

This is what the top of our table looked like for
most of the evening.

The smiles are always this big through out the
night.

This was our server and we usually have
him every time we go. I believe his name is Chris.
He is always right on top of things and is a very nice guy!

Apparently I got VERY chatty at the end of the
evening and extended an invitation to him to join
us on our next cruise for 11/7/09. I hope he takes
us up on it.
Terri said that he thought it would be weird going
on a cruise with a bunch of people that he doesn't
know and I explained that if he were to go on a
cruise on his own that he would not know anyone
anyway.
What a sales pitch, huh?

Ray just wanted to get away from me.....

....but not as bad as Scotty!!

We always take time to stop at the "Big Comfy Couch"!!

He is starting already!!!!!

My little brother Michael is already on my case
about turning 40!!!

He emailed this to me with the title "thinking about you".

Nice, huh????

What are the odds.......

Gena lives in IL, I live in FL, so......... what are the
odds that something like this could happen!!!!

The Manhattan Project......

Michael is making progress......we have a place to sleep,
some place to set our pizza and NOW some place to sit!!!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Towel friends ......

Lance loved all of the "little guys" that met us
in our cabin each night.

I bought Lance the book on how to fold these
critters so he can make them at home.

Expanding his horizons ......

Lance, my fussy eater, shocked all of us when
he asked if he could order lobster and shrimp!!!

He did not care for either but I was thrilled

that he would at least try them.

He enjoyed his apple juice from a wine glass.
On the evening that Frank and I had our dinner
at the supper club Laurie told me that Lance
ordered fried shrimp and ate every bite!!!
Finally!! Something else to eat besides peanut butter!!

Dinner with friends & family......

Everyone was still in a great mood after a terrific
send off.
I believe this was the only night that we were
ALL in the dining room at the same time.

Margita took great care of Lance and Grant.

Jesse and his mom, Carol

Tad and Tonya (I really enjoyed spending time with them)

Anita and Bob (I have never seen Bob more relaxed)

Laurie and Mike (I voted Laurie "best dressed for the entire trip)

"G" was always happy!!

The "Nana's spent a lot of time together.
Patty and Bob (another Bob, VERY relaxed)
My little family........

I was feeling the love......

After seeing these pictures you may believe that
I had a better time than ANYONE!!

I was feeling the love!!!!

Dave & Mitch

Uncle Bill & Uncle Dave
Ray

Ryan

Jesse

Jason

Bob

Jeff and Tad
Yucka!!!!!
Bob
Jason was the one who got the "love" started!!

and we are off...

We set sail just before a huge storm hit and it was really windy.
The wind was dipping into my glass and pushing the wine from it. I
ended up covered in it.

It was a good thing that Frank had put rocks in his pockets
before we left or he would have been staying on the coast!!

Jesse's dad, Don, was seeing us off from the jetty.

I had warned Tad several weeks prior to the cruise
that there would be a pink cup in his future.....after he
saw what I did to Bob he said "let's just get the over with"!!
He knew that it was just a matter of time.
I still don't think Bob has any clue of what I did.

What is a TRUE friend..........

I received this from my friend Mary Lou and I do believe that she would do every one of these!!

1. When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.

2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.

4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much Worse it could be until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.

7. When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.

9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end "Why?" you may ask; "because you are my friend".

Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel it's true warmth.

Remember: A friend will help you move. A really good friend will help you move a body. Let me know if I ever need to bring a shovel...

All aboard......

The first thing we did when we got on the ship was get a beverage and wait for the excursion desk to open at 1:00, however, when 1:00 rolled around they decided that they were not going to open until 2:00. So....we left that area and went for more cocktails and something to eat.

Lance lived at the free, 24 hour ice cream bar.

The rest of us had a regular meal.

Gotta start with the drink of the day!!!

We're ready to go........

After a brief introduction to our neighbor Louis and his motorcycle, Bob was off and running.

I think Patty may have said a secret prayer to be sure that he came right back.

A couple of our "virgin" cruisers were ready to go.

Our bags were packed but now the trick was getting them all to fit.
We left that to the "experts"!!

As we pulled into the drop off area at the port we could hardly contain our excitement as the Glory came in to view.

We got all of the luggage unloaded and we had to wait for a while before we could board.
When we were able to get into our cabins the first thing we did was have the dividers removed from our 4 adjoining rooms so we could have one long balcony. (though we really did not spend as much time as prior cruises out on it)

Meet & Greet........

Friday, April 4th the majority of our cruisers had arrived. Laurie and I had planned a meet and greet complete with name tags so everyone would be able to identify their fellow cruisers. It was only a few hours long so that we could all get some rest before we head out in the morning.

There was plenty of food and a wonderful rum punch. We all were able to use Carnival glasses for our beverages because Laurie and I had collected so many from past cruises.
We also had display boards set up around the house that had pictures of all of the parties that had gotten us to this point. Everyone enjoyed looking at them.

We also made sure that everyone got laid (leis) as they came in the door.

After eating and socializing we gathered everyone into the living room so that Laurie and I could thank everyone for booking with us and give out some important details for the week to come.

We had made reference cards that had everyones name and cabin number on them and we also handed out the ships layout compliments of Patty.
The only people who were missing from the party were Mary Lou, Mitch, Melissa, Michael, Dave and Ryan. They had a late flight and were supposed to get into Orlando around 9:00 until....they discovered that the airline screwed up and had no record of them. What a way to start a vacation!!!
But... we were not about to exclude them from our party. I had a picture of them that I had blown up and gave them each a little name tag. We explained their story to everyone and met them on the ship the next morning.
At the end of our speech our husbands came up and thanked us for all that we had done. It was very sweet.

What a way to start a vacation.........

Thursday morning Frank, on his last day of work before the cruise, was driving on the interstate when all of a sudden there was an explosion from his car. He thought he had a flat tire and pulled off into the center onto the grass. He was a little confused because when he pulled over the steering wheel did not pull. When he stepped out of the car there was smoke coming from the engine. He popped the hood and up came the flames!!! Someone going south banged a u-turn and came running to him with a fire extinguisher. They got the fire out, called a tow truck and got it back to our house.

When he opened the hood he discovered a huge chunk of the "pumpkin" was missing. Everyone who has looked at it says they have never seen anything like it.
Our friend J.J. is going to call around to find a transmission and hopefully it can be repaired. If not, well, it looks like I may be getting a new vehicle.
I would like it to be repaired due to the money factor, BUT, I would also LOVE to have a new car. I will let you know what happens.

building on his way to work this morning!!

I just read an article.......

..... on the dangers of heavy drinking.... Scared the crap out of me. So that's it! After today, no more reading.

A little more spending money......

Carnival FINALLY gave in!! This is the newspaper article.

MIAMI — Carnival Corp., the world’s largest cruise operator, said today it would give $40 million in refunds to customers nationwide who were charged a fuel surcharge after they booked their trips.

It’s the second cruise company to reach an agreement with the Florida Attorney General’s Office, which received more than 300 complaints about the fee added by several cruise operators last fall. Customers said the charge was tacked on after they made their reservation. The Carnival settlement affects more than 1.1 million bookings — the number of people affected was not immediately available. Carnival is the parent company of Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and The Yachts of Seabourn It and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., another industry leader, announced in November they would start billing passengers to offset rising fuel prices — $5 per person, per day — for voyages beginning Feb. 1. After the attorney general launched its investigation, Royal Caribbean announced in early March it would refund eligible customers about $21 million. Carnival said it will contact customers who booked trips before the fuel surcharge was announced Nov. 7. People who traveled on or before April 4 will receive a refund in whatever payment form they used for the booking. Those on trips departing April 5 to June 23 are to receive an on-board credit. For trips after that, customers’ bookings will be adjusted to remove the surcharge. Last week, Carnival reported a 17 percent drop in first-quarter profits due to rising fuel costs, a drag on operations that also led the company to lower full-year profit guidance. Carnival said the settlement will have no impact on these numbers because the company did not recognize the fuel supplement revenue while the attorney general’s office was conducting its review. Both cruise lines also agreed to clearly disclose the charges in the future, both in advertisements and while reservations are being made.
