Bomb threat.......

Lance called me at work around 2:30 last Monday & said that I needed to pick him up. Normally he walks home & if it is raining really hard they will make him stay at the school so the first thing I asked him, as I am looking out my office door at a beautiful day, was "Why, is it raining?" He then told me that they were under "lock down". I hopped in my car & headed to the school.

When I turned the corner on to the street that has the 3 schools on it
my mouth dropped open. I am not sure how many cops, firetrucks, ambulances, & news crews were on my street.

I drove past the elementary school, which looked like a ghost town, & pulled up to a cop who asked me where I was going. I told him that I was going to pick up my son at the intermediate school. He checked my I.D. & let me through.

In the lobby of the school people were crammed in like sardines. There were several upset parents of students that went to the middle school. I slowly made my way up to the front, where I was greeted by name & then had my I.D. checked again, & found out there had been a bomb threat at the middle school & because all of the schools are so close they have to evacuate all 3 schools.

I have to admit, they have a great system. It's a good thing that they have a system in place because on Wednesday they had to do it all over again.
However, this time the person who called in the threat was caught. As it turns out, a 15 year old punk was upset with one of his teachers & thought that would be a good way to get even. Well, as it turns out, it was a good way to end up in jail since it is a felony in this state to make bomb threats.

Time to make a decision................

How about those Cowboys!!!!!!!

37 to 20.....too bad, so sad.....NOT!!! Frank seemed so confident that he actually had me a little worried before the game. I really did not want to wear orange & now I don't have to!!

However, I do need to make a decision. I can't decide which shirt to make him wear. The 1st time he will have to wear one is this Sunday. Feel free to place your vote by making a comment below. I'll have pictures of him in the winning shirt next week!!!

He needed a pacifier at the end of the game......poor Frank!!

Short but sweet......

On Saturday we drove over to Orlando to have dinner at the ESPN Club with my niece Carrie, Joe & the kids. They are here from South Bend to do the "Disney thing." I wish we could have spent more time with them. We all had a great visit over dinner & Connie was thrilled to meet Jack, her great-grandchild & get to see Nolan & Grace again.

Joe had to empty out his wallet just to make room for the 17 Disney cards. He said, "You have to married to a Knight for something like this to happen!"

The bet.....

One of the things that makes football more fun is making bets with the competition. Well....Frank & I have come up with a doozie.

The Dallas Cowboys are playing the Miami Dolphins in Miami on Sunday. The war in my household will start about the same time that our eyes open that morning. We will both spend hours dragging our teams' "stuff" out onto our patio. Then the arguing will start. Frank will complain that I have my stuff in his "space" & will start to move things around. Then the game of cat & mouse will begin. We will both take turns going out on the patio & move things around.

Now for the bet.....the loser has to wear the winners jersey for any 4 regular season games that the winner chooses. I have every confidence that the Cowboys can pull this off.

Besides, doesn't Frank look very comfortable in these clothes???

Time for a war......

As most of you know, Frank & I are only married 7 months out of the year because of our total disagreement during football season.
This weekend we will have an all out war at my house because Dallas is playing Miami. As far as I am concerned Miami does not stand a chance, especially since they have that "old man" for a quarterback!!

Go Cowboys!!!!!!

Another Key West trip......

As I had mentioned before.....we had such a great time in July that we decided to go back to Key West for Labor Day weekend.

2nd floor deck at The Bull & Whistle.

Frank couldn't take his eyes off of the Notre Dame
game at Irish Kevin's.

I love the reflection on the bar.

Goofing around while waiting for the bars
to open on Sunday afternoon.

Some of us were still sleepy.

This trip was a far cry from the last. No plans, no time frames & no direction. We didn't care what time it was or where we ended up. (although there were a few places that we probably should not have gone)

One thing that I did was call my brother from Hogs Breath Saloon. They have a running web cam. I told him where I was standing & he found it on line & saw Frank, Jeff & I waving at him. He said that it was cool to look at one of those cams & see someone he knows. (I could have called the following night from 2 Friends Restaurant while doing Karaoke but I wanted him to keep his dinner down)

I think my favorite night ......& I think it was Jeans also....was when we got back to the room on Saturday, grabbed a couple of drinks & the two of us went up to the "sun" deck picked out two lounge chairs under the stars & talked for a long time (without the men). It was very relaxing & something that we should have done a long time ago.

We always make time for some pool.

Capt. Tony's has a tradition of throwing a quarter
over your head & tossing it into the fishes mouth.
Jean was the only one to get it in this trip.
You can see the quarter above Franks head.
I kept dropping it ON my head.

We even took some time to enjoy some
local art.

My favorite room........
